Fasting one food group or the other is usually the core strategy many well-known diets use to cause rapid fat loss.

It is the popular thought that depriving your body of the foods it desires, sometimes to the extreme, is the best way to lose weight fast.

What you may not realize however, is that if you suddenly decrease the amount of calories that you need, you may only fool your body for a short period.

That means it's not a good idea to become "calorie-phobic" if you want to lose weight quickly.

Sure, avoid empty calories - like that glazed double chocolate donut that has absolutely no nutritional value.

What you should focus on instead is making sure you consume a daily caloric intake that is proportionate to your body size, type, and weight loss goals.

You may also be happy to know that that eating small healthy meals frequently throughout the day can be very good for boosting metabolism.

It'll help you to avoid the severe hunger pangs that typically result in fast (unhealthy) food binging.

Plus, if you keep eating during the day, eating throughout the day, you are constantly keeping your metabolism in motion.

It's kind of like having a generator run all the time; it will simply use more electricity than if you powered it on 3 times a day.

Note - we're not saying to eat junk all day long, but be very aware of what you eat throughout the day to keep your body revved up without exceeding your optimal daily caloric limits.
